For those of you out there that are unsure what to do on Saturday night, or if you don't exactly know whats happening at the Clubhouse this weekend here's a little preview of what you can expect.

Art By Rondo! Sadly I couldn't get any pics of her giant monsters, there is a taste of some of her past work at the Boss Level Blog. Here is a new current favorite of mine.
Art by Dane (Good Vibes!) Dane's work has been growing larger, in physical size, and more detailed over the past few months. His drawings come from a darker place, where creepy humanoids roam.



Art By Derek Charm! Derek's charm influence from classic styled comics is undeniable, but his fantasy scapes and portrayed action are signature to his paintings. He has an art show coming up at Verite/Cupcake Royale on 34th in Madrona (Seattle, WA).





ALASKAS, Universal Studios Florida, and Braidstorm will be providing music for the evening along with a DJ set by me.

We'll have art, records, zines, stickers, buttons, and clothes for sale!

Doors open at 7PM, don't be late! Be early if you want, in fact.

There was a new video up for Talbot Tagora's song Internet Fixture on their myspace last time I checked it. The song is from their split 10" with LA band Bipolar Bear who share similar ethereal, trashy no wave roots, out on Ol' Factory Records at some point.

Another really great song caught in video by Talbot Tagora, theres pounding of the guitar, oceans full of vocals, and a great Britney Spears cameo. I heard someone say once that if you list your video with Britney Spears or whomever famous person you chose, as some of the keywords and have their cameo as the screen shot for the video you can significantly boost your hits. Someone should consider this.

Tomorow, on January 20th. Pay day, inauguration day, and the day Devon Williams comes to the Vera Project. I've been looking forward to seeing him for quite some time, listening to Gene Pitney, Adam Green, and Death Vessel to get me ready for his honest, string flurried pop. Desolation Wilderness most recently have had a CD/LP on K Recs from Olympia. Adam from Kickball and members of LAKE share the stage with Nic Zwart and oozing, dripping reverb soaking their down tempo beach boys reminscent jams.

Nic did a fantastic job engineering the sounds of new LAKE and Desolation Wilderness records, with help from Bob Schwenkler of Bicycle Records and time at Dub Narcotic.

Devon Williams will be playing an alternate free set at Sonic Boom tomorow at 6PM, for you poor kids, otherwise I highly recomend coming to Vera for the entire bill.

Welcome to the new year. I've been more than ready to get this year started for months. I'm happy to say that this July 2009 Highfives and Handshakes will be releasing Dillon James Rego's ALASKAS new record SET YOURSELF FREE.

Dillon has been ALASKAS since Santa Rosa living rooms, now residing in the zone in Seattle, WA he'll play any show someone else will drop him off at. Please give him a warm welcome to the Highfives family.
